Our history

Unlike tapestries we claim no great history but we did begin selling tapestry art in the last century.

In early 1994 my wife Linda and I opened a retail shop in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. I well remember our first tapestry sale. It was a small medieval scene woven in France, now discontinued but similar to this falconry tapestry, sold to a local lady.

Many thousands of tapestries have since passed through our hands to grace houses throughout the world. This has been the most satisfying part of our work: that these beautiful pieces of wall art are in homes being enjoyed by so many people.

We continue to expand the selection on offer but we choose new designs and new weavers with care. We will only accept good quality tapestries so you will not find those woven in the USA, Egypt or India. We have found a good source for fine hand-woven Chinese tapestries but refuse to deal with “knock-offs” or sweat shops. Most recently we have established a relationship with the weaver of some stunning handwoven tapestry wallhangings from Peru.

Do enjoy browsing through our collection and let us know how we can help you select the right tapestry for the right place.
